Little Big Tex, 1852, Centennial Neon Sign.
This red shirted, blue denim, neon cowboy was unveiled in 1961. In attendance was the Light Crust Doughboys, The Dallas Mayor, Miss Texas, and Miss Iceland. For 53 years he pointed the way to affordable liquor, beer, and wine. In 2015 he was restored for a cameo in the TV series Halt and Catch Fire, afterwards he was sold to the State Fair where he now sits in the shadow of “Big Tex”, pointing to a muddy lagoon.
