Swimming at Kidd Springs
June 2, 1920, it’s a late summer afternoon when a boating party reports to the Kidd Springs Park management that somebody, maybe a woman had drowned in the deep end of the lake. The management told everyone to get out of the lake, then asked all the women to go to the changing room and retrieve their belongings from their lockers. An inspection showed that all clothing was accounted for, and no locker remained unopened. So, management let everyone go back to boating, swimming, and picnicking. The next morning a man’s suit of clothing was found unclaimed in the men’s locker room. The lake was dredged, and they found the body of JB Howard.
