Under the Old Gnarled Cottonwood  - This drawing is a different from the preceding drawings. It was Susan’s wish to have her ashes spread below a particular cottonwood tree at White Rock Lake next to the old Dallas Water Filtration building. When we gathered under its large, twisted branches and listened to the rustling leaves it was clear this beautiful, unforgettable tree was just the right place. It was as if Susan herself had been transformed into an enormous tree with creaking branches.
