Little Egypt Community Cemetery - 1896, Mr. JE Griffin sold one acre of the McCree Cemetery to members of Little Egypt for the exclusive/segregated use as an African American cemetery. I have not been able to find a name for the Little Egypt cemetery, and listings of the McCree cemetery often don’t mention the graves on the other side of the fence. Today, after a short drive down a back alley you’ll find these overgrown, forgotten graveyards surrounded by an 8 foot chain linked fence with locked gates.
